These are two marvelous small gouache portraits by Harold Von Schmidt. These are hand signed in pen and dedicated to Fred, a friend.
Gouache on illustration board. Dated 1975. Subjects are a man and a woman, unknown to me. Beautiful brushwork, in wonderful condition, no chips or damage to surface. Great images by one America's greatest illustrators.
Harold Von Schimdt (American, 1893-1982): For more than half a century, the illustrations and paintings of Harold Von Schmidt were featured in the Saturday Evening Post, Cosmopolitan, American, and other magazines for well over two decades.
